The Pastor's class is a special class that is held at different times to prepare children for their decision to become a member of the church.

Here is one experience:

I've made a decision to choose Jesus, God, and the Church.  The Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church offers a course to prepare for baptism and church membership, and I took it with some of my friends.  It's called 'Prepare the Way,' but most people just call it the Pastor's Class.  I thought I knew alot about God, but I never really understood Him until I took this class.  Reverend Bronson takes us through the Christian basics step by step, and we actually talk about what it truly means to be a Christian.  The Reverend makes alot of sense, along with alot of jokes!  I really appreciate what Jesus did for us more than ever before, and what He went through to save us.

Our class was based on the 'Five Finger' exercise that Walter Scott and early frontier Disciples evangelists created to help teach the five things that you must embrace to become a Christian:  faith, repentance, baptism, forgiveness, and the Holy Spirit.  Each finger represents one of these five elements.  I really liked this method, because it was easy to understand.

After we finished the class, my friends and I were baptized.  It felt gooooooooooooood.  My life is new.  My mother cried, but she's silly that way.  Now I'm not just a kid anymore.  I'm a full member of Western Hills Christian Church.  And I like it!
